Translation memories TM

A translation memory (or TM for short) is a language database that stores text in the source and target language.

Each TM is customised by client, sector, and language pair and updated every time a new translation is added.

TMs help ensure the following:

• consistent style and terminology: Documents that need to be translated can come at different times, in several formats, and from various departments. We assign each project to one or more translators who use the same TM to ensure that the terminology remains consistent and that your style and preferences are maintained.
• consistent translation in all languages: TMs help keep translations consistent across all languages, using the correct terminology and style.
• faster turnaround and lower costs: TMs allow the translator to identify parts of a text that have already been translated within the same text or in different files or projects (even in different formats). This way, they don’t always need to translate everything from scratch.
