Rise Against Hunger Italia is not stopping and is ready to get packaging meals again to keep fighting against hunger, in accordance with existing regulations and guaranteeing the highest safety for everyone.
According to the World Food Programme, the impact of Covid-19 on the economic and social structures of the most vulnerable countries could double the number of people suffering from extreme hunger, reaching 265 million by the end of 2020.
Faced with this scenario, food aid programmes must keep running and Rise Against Hunger Italia has redesigned its events to meet safety standards:
- Workstations marked with stickers on the floor
- A maximum of 14 volunteers at the same time, wearing masks and gloves, separated from each other by at least 1 and a half metres
- Equipment will be disinfected for each event and shift
- Meals will be broken down switching from packaged meals to packaging individual ingredients: in this way, each packaged box will guarantee to provide a family of 4 with food for a month.
With this new set-up, Zonta Club Reggio Emilia and children from the IC Lepido secondary school, together with STUDIOTRE’s help, have got busy rescheduling the event set for 14 March but which was postponed due to Coronavirus.
Thanks to the many donations that have come in – and temporarily “frozen” – the city of Reggio Emilia will be able to make its contribution for the second year to help the right to education and to a better life for people living in countries with a humanitarian crisis.
If you want to support the event, you can still do so by making a completely deductible charitable donation
