Today, meet… Adriana, a STUDIO TRE translator and project manager

“Caminante no hay camino, se hace camino al andar” (“Traveller, there is no path; the path is made by walking”)

This verse is by the Spanish poet Antonio Machado. He was from the same country as Adriana – who has been a native-speaker translator and project manager at STUDIO TRE since October 2020 – and his words sum up her approach to everyday life: “There isn’t a set, pre-established path for us to follow through life; we create it ourselves however we like, step by step.”

Thanks to the translations and revisions she does, Adriana never stops learning and growing: “At the end of a day’s work, l might have been doing anything from taking a deep dive into fabrics, cuts and sewing techniques in the fashion world, to finding out from a technical manual how a machine for the food industry works.”

In her free time, Adriana unwinds by trying out new recipes in the kitchen, clears her mind by making all sorts of pieces of pottery, and watches thrillers or historical films and TV shows.

She discovered magic realism (in the form of literary fiction and art) during literature lessons when she was 16 and she’s loved it ever since. It was around that time that she first read One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez, which is one of her favourite novels.
