An adventure that began in 1979
Our roots are in Reggio Emilia,
but our eyes are always fixed on the future and beyond each new horizon
It was 1979 when Maura and two other business partners decided to join forces and make their dream into a reality. These women would create a company where they could achieve their ambitions, but on one important condition: they would love their work and strive to enhance its value every day.
A 20 sqm office in Reggio Emilia, three desks, a pile of dictionaries and an Olivetti Lettera 22 typewriter, a team of four collaborators and language services offered in three languages: thus began STUDIO TRE’s adventure as a translation and interpreting agency.
In 1990, after the first decade of business, the “Events” division was founded to help local companies plan events and conferences. Over the years, the team grew and moved to a bigger office, still in Reggio Emilia, finally dropping anchor at Via Mameli, 15.
1997 saw the arrival of Letizia, who initially joined the team in the role of project manager. She, too, brought a dream: to facilitate understanding and relationships between people, breaking down linguistic and cultural barriers.
2000 - 2017
STUDIO TRE soon adopted that dream as its own mission, transforming itself in 2003 from a limited partnership company (“S.a.s.”) into a private limited company (“S.r.l.”) and setting out to obtain its first certifications: UNI ISO 9001 and UNI 10574:2007, both awarded in 2010.
In 2008 Letizia became a partner and a member of the board. A few years later, in 2011, she took on the role of CEO.
2014 saw another important milestone: 35 years of business, marked by a restyling of the logo, a new coordinated image and a pay-off, “We stand by our word” (“Persone di parola”), to best represent the identity of a team that, in 2017, received its UNI EN ISO 17100 certification and, in 2018, registered its trademark, adopted an Organisational Model pursuant to Italian Legislative Decree 231/2001 and implemented a Cyber Security Total Protection system with the objective of guaranteeing an even higher level of data protection and confidentiality.
2018 - 2021
2018 was also the year when STUDIO TRE opened its branch office in Milan, Italy’s European and international business capital.
The company celebrated its 40th birthday in 2019 with another important transformation: from a private limited company into a public limited company (“S.p.A.”) and, with its eyes still fixed on technological innovation, began to invest in innovative start-ups.
In 2020, STUDIO TRE more clearly defined its identity, going from a translation and interpreting agency to a strategic language consultancy, supporting its clients in the design of their language strategies using a problem-setting approach. Our team is still growing and with it our internal expertise, our collaborations with new partners and the services we offer our clients.
2020 was a year that was also characterised by additional investments in technology: it saw the creation of the ST3 Management System, a completely customised proprietary software system that makes project management simpler and more sustainable; design work began on the new website; and a Vulnerability Assessment system was adopted to strengthen security across the company’s entire IT network.
Today STUDIO TRE is a Benefit Corporation that can rely on an in-house team of 17 people, a network of 1500 specialised native-speaker collaborators and a strong network of partners with whom we work every day to support our clients, providing them with language services in every language of the world.
